Our thought for today: “Don’t give up!”
So how are you doing on sticking to your plan to achieve the God-given goals you are working on? By now you’ve probably had some successes and you’ve probably had some setbacks, but have you stuck with it? The key to succeed at anything is to simply stick with it. There’s a lot of truth in the old saying “Nothing is over until you give-up.”
The primary difference between those who successfully achieve their goals and those who don’t is that those who achieve them stick with it. Oh, they experience setbacks, you can be sure of that. But they don’t let those setbacks stop them. When they experience the setback they simply refocus on the goal and get themselves going again.
One of the advantages to using “The Daniel Plan” to achieve healthy lifestyle goals is that it provides the structure and help we need in order to push through the tough times. First, it leads us to seek our goals from God. We ask Him to show us the changes He wants us to make. Then we make the pursuit of that goal a matter of how we practice our faith. Along with that, we have a daily plan to guide us along the way to achieving the goal. Therefore there’s never any question in our mind about what steps we need to take.
Another important part of the system is that The Daniel Plan literature and website provide lots of resources to help us. And then of course, there are friends. A support group of likeminded people is invaluable to keep us focused and motivated.
Paul’s encouragement in Galatians 6:9 applies to all of life but especially to the achievement of a goal or task given to you by God. Don’t give up! Just keep at it and in time you will achieve your goal and reap your reward.
